Jimmy Walker (basketball)

James "Jimmy" Walker (born April 8, 1944 in Amherst, Virginia) is an American former professional basketball player. A 6'3" guard from Providence College, he played nine seasons (1967–1976) in the NBA as a member of the Detroit Pistons, Houston Rockets, and Kansas City Kings. Walker was a two-time All-Star who scored 11,655 points in his career. He is also the estranged father of current NBA player Jalen Rose.
He was selected number one overall in the 1967 NBA Draft by the Detroit Pistons.
In 1983 he was convicted of of failing to file tax returns in 1976 and 1977 and sentenced to 90 days in prison.[1]
