Joel Anderson represents California's 77th Assembly District. He was elected to his first term in November of 2006.

Anderson is the youngest of 8 children. He has been married for 18 years to Kate, his wife and is the father of 2 daughters (Mary and Maura) and 1 son (Michael).

Mr. Anderson owned and operated a small company for over a decade. He started his company in 1986 and built it into a million-dollar operation by its third year. Mr. Anderson also served as President of the Padre Dam Municipal Water District.
[edit] Political Involvement
Mr. Anderson was the San Diego County Co-Chair of Senator Tom McClintock’s “Repeal the Car Tax” Committee. Mr. Anderson was also active in the Bush/Cheney 2004 campaign. Mr. Anderson has been active for decades in both Republican organizations and campaigns. Mr. Anderson served as a member the of San Diego County’s Republican Party central committee. For a decade, Mr. Anderson served as a Board Member in the Adam Smith Institute, and as a member of the [Abraham] Lincoln Club of San Diego.

He graduated from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and served as President of the International Business Fraternity of Delta Sigma Pi.

Assembly District 77 encompasses East San Diego County, including all or portions of El Cajon, La Mesa, Santee, Jamul, Lakeside, Ramona, Alpine, Borrego Springs, and the City of San Diego.
