[edit] Entrepreneur
Starting and running businesses since he was 12, Joel’s interest in entrepreneurship is just as fierce, and in 2006 he was named one of the “Top 25 Entrepreneurs Under 25” by Business Week Magazine. Also in 2006, Joel received the prestigious Student Business Initiative Award by Babson College, ranked #1 in Entrepreneurship by US News and World Report.
An avid videographer with many friends and colleagues in the entertainment industry, Joel founded Footage Firm as a junior in high school. Started as a hobby, Joel quickly realized that there was a potential to make real money with the company, and after senior year he deferred from Babson for one year to put serious time and energy into expanding operations.
For the past 5 years, Footage Firm has specialized in selling professionally shot, studio-quality video of major cities, countries, and landscapes to editors, producers, television and movie studios for use in their projects, royalty-free.
Although sales are continuing to hit all time highs with each new month, Joel will not be content until Footage Firm can occupy a much larger piece of the multimillion dollar stock footage industry. Profits will continue to be plowed back into advertising and expansion of the company.
Born and raised in McLean, Virginia, Joel resides in Wellesley, Massachusetts during the school year where he is a junior in Dean's List standing at Babson College, the #1 ranked entrepreneurial business school in the US. During the summer he lives and works in New York City or Los Angeles.
