Johann Baptist Reus

Johann Baptist Reus or João Batista Reus (Pottenstein, Germany, July 10th of 1868 - São Leopoldo, Brazil, July 21st of 1947) was as German-Brazilian religious leader.
Reus joined the Company of Jesus, was ordained a priest, and then sent to Brazil. He was a teology teacher for many years at the Cristo Rei college, in the city of São Leopoldo, state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. Only after fifty years as a member of the priesthood did he accept to celebrate mass to all of the wide comunity.
He wrote many books about theology and the natural sciences in many languages during his life (i.e. in Portuguese, Spanish, German, Italian, and English). His Diário Espiritual (spiritual diary) and Autobiografia (autobiography) reveal his unique mystical state of being.
Padre Reus is considered a Saint by many Catholics of the region.
