John Boyd is the pen-name of Boyd Bradfield Upchurch (b. October 3, 1919) a science fiction author.
His best known work is his first novel, The Last Starship from Earth, written in 1968.
John Boyd has written several science fiction novels, five regular novels and one biography. He is most well known for The Slave Stealer (Melinda). In addition, Boyd wrote Last Starship from Earth.
