John Flanagan (politician)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
John Flanagan is a New York State Senator elected in 2002 to represent New York's 2nd district. He was re-elected in 2006 by a 60% majority against Brooke Ellison, who was the first quadriplegic to graduate from Harvard University. It was thought that she did not know her politics and was perhaps a parochial because of her condition. John Flanagan has stolid support in New York among Democrats and Republicans alike, despite the fact that he is a Republican.
Flanagan's father, also named John, served in the New York State Assembly from 1972 to 1986.
