John Holmstrom

John Holmstrom is an American underground cartoonist and writer. As the co-founder of Punk Magazine at the age of 21 in late 1975, Holmstrom's work became the visual representation of the Punk era. During the 1980s he worked for several publications, such as Stop! Magazine, Comical Funnies, Twist, High Times and Heavy Metal magazine .
John Holmstrom is best known for his cover of the Ramones albums Rocket to Russia and Road to Ruin, as well as his characters Bosko and Joe (published in Scholastic's Bananasmagazine from 1975-1984). In 2006, he released the Bosko #1 comic book, a collection of new Bosko comic strips, under the new Punk Comics banner. John Holmstrom also illustrated the cover for the most definitive book on the Ramones "On The Road With The Ramones" written by Monte A. Melnick the Ramones Tour Manager. [1]
