John Murray (VC), (born Whigsboro, Ireland, February 1839 - died Derrinlough, County Offaly, 8 April 1912), was a recipient of the Victoria Cross, the highest and most prestigious award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces.

As a sergeant with the Durham Light Infantry he fought during the Waikato-Hauhau Land wars in New Zealand and won the Victoria Cross at Tauranga on 21 June 1864. The award was listed in the London Gazette on 4 November 1864.

He is buried in an unmarked grave in Cottagequinn Cemetery (Eglish Road), Dungannon.
