John Akin Salako (born 11 February 1969 in Nigeria) is an English former professional football player who played for a variety of clubs and has also represented England at senior level. He was a part of the Crystal Palace team which reached the FA Cup Final in 1990, but lost in a replay to Manchester United.
As a teenager, he lived in Westerham, Kent & was a student at The Wildernesse School in Sevenoaks, where he excelled at ... football.
He is currently a presenter on Sky Sports.
In 2005, John was voted into Palace's Centenary XI. He is affectionately known as Salad at Crystal Palace.
