John Schnatter

John H. Schnatter (born 1962) is the founder, chairman and former CEO of Papa John's International, Inc. He founded the company in 1985.
He started in the pizza business as a high school student working at Rocky's Sub Pub in Jeffersonville, Indiana. After obtaining a degree in business administration from Ball State University in 1983, he expanded the kitchen at his father's bar, Mick's Lounge and began his own pizza business in the bar.
Schnatter and his wife, Annette, live in Anchorage, Kentucky. [1], where Schnatter owns over 130 acres of land - most of the center of the wealthy community. [2]
Today, there exists nearly 3,000 restaurants with the name Papa John's in 49 states and 24 countries.
Schnatter appears in many Papa John's commercials, making him very recognizable. Schnatter usually ends his commercials by saying the company slogan, “Better ingredients, better pizza, Papa John’s.”
