Hi Uppland. I found this page because it linked to Template:Owl where I just added a thumbnail of an Owl. What I find interesting on this page is the date. I'm not going to change anything, just comment for the future. He was born March 14th 1707. I assume this is Old Style, meaning that in the year 1707, it was recorded on the 14 March that Johan Ihre was born. Now, on Gregorian_calendar#Adoption_outside_of_Roman_Catholic_nations it explains Sweden's complicated change from the Julian to the Gregorian calender. Between 1700-1712 the Swedish calender was using the Julian calendar with an additional 1 day. So his birthdate the 14th March Old Swedish Style is the 13th March Old Style, and 24th March New Style? Perhaps we should put this on a notice list for those editing pages with old Swedish dates. --Fred chessplayer 10:16, 10 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- Didn't notice this until now. Apparently the date I had put into the article had already been converted to NS. I now changed it in accordance with Svenskt biografiskt lexikon, which probably follows the style used in contemporary sources. - up+land 10:27, 22 Apr 2005 (UTC)
