Apparently the first thing to be settled on Fux's page is whether or not it is appropriate to give the most common pronunciation of his name in English speaking dialects (that Fux rhymes with dukes). Seeing as how this is the ENGLISH Wikipedia website - I think it is a good idea. Mark, however, seems to think that only the German name should be given, and no pronunciation helps whatsoever. I would like this to be solved maturely. Perhaps you, Mark, can discuss with me why you think we shouldn't include any pronunciation of his name?—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 70.22.222.244 (talk • contribs).

There is a pronunciation guide on the page, right before the point where you keep adding back your text. This seems perfectly adequate and is the standard way to represent pronuciations both in Wikipedia and other reference sources. A small side note: it is good etiquette to sign your contributions. You guys are so ridiculous - especially Mark. Wikipedia (or the internet in general) would be such a nicer place if not for arrogant, power obsessed admins. So, okay. Fine. We all know that a pronunciation right after Fux's name that told most English speakers how his name is pronounced would be helpful. There is simply no denying it. But you guys want to act big and bad and try to temporarily ban me, and get into a revert war and be the macho admins that you are. So, fine. You win. You guys can keep the pronunciation off of Fux's page. Mark never even tried to discuss it here - he simply said thought that the article should stay how he wants it to. Period. No discussion. Don't like him reverting my changes? Fine, he'll try to temporarily ban me. That's the Wiki spirit! Leider, Fux reimt nicht mit Dukes. It maybe is the english way of pronouncing his name, but it is not the German way. --KimvdLinde 05:03, 11 March 2006 (UTC)

And why, pray tell, would anyone who care what the German way of pronouncing his name is over the ENGLISH pronunciation on the ENGLISH Wikipedia website? Because English is the lingua franca of the world nowadays, and as such, many non-native english speakers also visit the pages. For them, it might be nice to provide somewhat wider oriented information, and avoid misinformation. --KimvdLinde 07:38, 11 March 2006 (UTC)

You yourself admit that the pronunciation I have given (and a few others before me) is the way that most English speakers pronounce Fux's name. But because non-native English speakers visit the ENGLISH Wikipedia website, people shouldn't be told how to pronounce his name IN THE LANGUAGE THEY ARE CURRENTLY READING? I simply cannot convey to you how absolutely ridiculous that is. Let us assume that people reading the ENGLISH WIKIPEDIA WEBSITE will be interested in how things are pronounced IN ENGLISH. I think most English people pronouce it as Fucks. Dukes does not sound that, ducks is closer. Fooks would be pretty close to the german pronounciation, if you want to divert from it anyway as you suggest with Dukes. --KimvdLinde 21:59, 11 March 2006 (UTC)

I don't care. Do whatever thou wishest. Put in the pronunciation, keep it out. I careth not. You can ask that the protection be removed because the issue is resolved. I have no dispute anymore.
