Regarding his 'height', the figures are the same as Douglas Adam's, any coicindence/typos?
I believe he is a Santa Barbara resident part of the year
Why did he decline the CBE?

"Cleese declined the British honour of Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE)" Both? It was either a CBE or an OBE. I think that needs correcting and those links a bit of sorting out Stephenjh 05:39, 12 May 2006 (UTC)

He lives not in Santa Barbara, but in the hills above it. He lives in Montecito, California. I actually stayed overnight in the house right next door to him. His neighbor says that he is really cool.

I found no reference to depression in the Article, much less a clinical diagnosis of one.

On TBS's ads "to determine what's funny", John Cleese is the guy in the lab coat throwing oranges at the guy in underwear, is he not? I am sure that was him, if it wasn't then it was his twin.

"Many considered this to be the perfect tribute to his friend and comic partner." - when talking about the Chapman eulogy. In my mind, "comic" means "funny". As in, "the comic escapades of Bruno McFly". Should this be changed to "comedic"? Ah, bollocks, I'll do it anyway, if anybody wants to revert it, they can. riana 10:50, 4 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Other use of the "Kim Bread" alias
It may be worth noting that when Cleese agreed to appear in City of Death, he asked the Radio Times to be credited as Kim Bread, and they declined. Anyone who knew this also knew that "Kim Bread" in Starship Titanic WAS indeed Cleese (which Adams later admitted anyway). The former story can be found in a couple of books about Doctor Who (but none that I have here with me right now...) --JohnDBuell 21:05, 12 July 2006 (UTC)

John Cleese appears in this commercial, which can be accessed here: http://www.backuptrauma.com/ It seems to me that this commercial is significant for being the first (only?) commercial to [i]exclusively[/i] make use of the internet as an advertising medium but I'm not qualified to judge this. Wouldn't it help to list his two books with Robin Skynner, "The Rectorial Address of John Cleese" and other script books like "The Strange Case of the End of Civilisation As We Know It" and "Faulty Towers", with edtition and ISBN, like we find at Terry Jones' article (or maybe also some of his great articles on comedy) in a separate section after filmography? "Don't want to read the biography? Tough luck!" OK, it's absolutely John Cleese style, but still they would be more obvious for some hasty seeker looking for them in particular. I have tried to find some possible connection of Cleese to the Bedknobs and Broomsticks film (the original book is too old to even consider). I don't find him having done any voices or played and role. I think this doesn't belong in Bibliography or elsewhere in this article. Hoverfish 06:53, 17 September 2006 (UTC)

Provided that John Cleese has given all kinds of statements to the press, Gazzalon's entry might be correct. Yet I couldn't find the London Times interview to verify. You can't use everything2 as a reference! Anyway, if JC's father joined the army in 1915, that would mean he was at least 40 when JC was born (far from impossible, but unlikely). Elsewhere, I've heard that it was his grandfather that changed the family name, which the IMDb agrees with ([1]). 213.249.235.86 14:53, 26 January 2007 (UTC)

I recall reading somewhere that Cleese had declined a knighthood. Can anyone find a source on this? If so, I think it ought to be added to the article. --Saforrest 22:07, 7 February 2007 (UTC)
