Jokyo

Jōkyō (貞享) was a Japanese era after Tenna and before Genroku and spanned from 1684 to 1688. Reigning emperors were Reigen and Higashiyama.

To mark the start of a new cycle of the Chinese zodiac, on the 21st day of the 2nd month of Tenna 4 (1684), the era became Jōkyō (貞享, "Taking righteousness"?)

- Jōkyō2 (1685) - The Semmyōreki, which had been used since the Heian era is abolished and replaced by the domestic Jōkyō calendar
