Jose "Pepi" Diaz is a Cuban-American attorney from Miami, Florida who was a contestant on NBC's show The Apprentice 5 in 2006. He was part of team Synergy in Week 1, and was then the third person fired after his team lost while he was project manager.
[edit] Education
Pepi was the president of the student body in his high school.
He graduated from the University of Miami, where he was named as the Florida College Student of the Year. As a student in college he also served on the City of Coral Gables Community Relations Board.
He then went to Columbia Law School where he received several honors that included the Silver Key award from the American Bar Association Law Student Division.
Pepi also founded the Sigma Phi Epsilon chapter at the University of Miami, Florida Gamma.
[edit] The Apprentice
After coming up with team Synergy's name in Week 1, Pepi volunteered to be project manager in Week 2. He ran into some problems handling fellow contestant Brent Buckman and was consequently the third person fired.
After Lee Bienstock and Sean Yazbeck became the final two, all the fired contestants were brought back so that the two finalists could choose their teams. Lee picked Lenny, and Lenny convinced him to pick Pepi, a controversial move since Pepi had been fired so early on. Carolyn Kepcher and Donald Trump felt he was the wrong choice because he was fired so early on in the show.
