Joseph W. B. H. Medford was born June 10th, 1902 in Gum Springs, Texas. He died 2 months prior to the completion of his first book The Medfords of the South and related families in 1984. This book and Medfords of the South and related families, volume II were later published by co-author James Elmer Medford. These books were a culmination of over 60 years of Medford family genealogy research. The Medford Cemetery in Rusk County, Texas has been cleared and a plaque dedicated to Joseph W. B. H. Medford at the site.
