Josh Scogin
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Josh Scogin is a rock singer born in Atlanta, Georgia. He first gained recognition as the lead singer of the band, "Luti-Kriss", which later changed their name to Norma Jean. He left this band just before the release of their album, Bless the Martyr and Kiss the Child. Scogin started the band "The Chariot" not long after leaving Norma Jean. The Chariot released their first album, Everything Is Alive, Everything Is Breathing, Nothing Is Dead, and Nothing Is Bleeding, in 2004, and we are now awaiting their new album, The Fianceé, to be released in spring 2007.
Scogin is a self-proclaimed Christian, and the lyrics from both of his bands reflect his religious beliefs.
[edit] Solo career
Josh Scogin has written material on his own, but has not officially released it. For his solo side project, called A Rose By Any Other Name, Scogin tends to write softer, more melodic music, "to break up to continuity of writing predominantly heavier songs." Many of the songs are written to or for his wife, April.
