[edit] To News Reporters
To all the reporters who will have the opportunity to interview or write about Josh Schwartz this year, I ask kindly that you review what is written about him on the page one tab over and and help to fill in the missing facts or correct any misconceptions surrounding his life. Here is a list of some outstanding questions:
[edit] On unproduced stuff and dubious stuff he worked on
- Was Schwartz in fact a writer for a period of time on the Joe Bonilla Show as IMDB states?
- Verify that Alphabet City was in fact a pilot he wrote and was not produced.
- What was the unnamed project that he fielded with director Thomas Schlamme to NBC as reported vaguely by the Hollywood Reporter here [1]?
- In retrospect, was his first sold screenplay Providence flawed? Why wasn't it made? Did it have a chance?
- Other than the shelved Superman script what other films has he worked as script doctor on?
[edit] Career
- Was it the members of the Pike fraternity house that opened his eyes to the Newport Beach lifestyle?
- How is the adaptation of Looking for Alaska moving along?
- What is Schwartz's job like as a television producer of a series? A 5-sentence quote-worthy piece of wisdom would be great.
- His relationship with Bob DeLaurentis, and the producers McG and Stephanie Savage at Wonderland Sound and Vision. Other significant relationships with TV people.
It is of benefit to you to answer these questions, because I or others will then use your journalism to improve this article and in turn attribute the information to your reporting per policy. Thank you for taking the time to read this, BillDeanCarter 02:35, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Black Eyed Peas
When were Black Eyed Peas featured on "The OC"?
In the first pilot episode of S1. (Hands Up)
[edit] Good references
- Schwartz talks about what he wanted to do and how he came up with The O.C. [2]
- McG then returned and the picture seemed close to the start gate, even as he brought in "OC" creator Josh Schwartz to do a quick polish on Abrams' script.[3]
- on failed pilot Athens [4]
- Dropped out from USC in 1997 and finally graduated in 1999? USC says he graduated in 1999 [5] others, like Suzanne C. Ryan at Boston Globe say he dropped out. I believe he "briefly dropped out". Difficult to tell what happened. How long was the program? He graduated from Wheeler School in 1994. Attended USC in 1995? 1997 dropped out when he sold his screenplay. Continued taking courses to graduate in 1999?
[edit] Improvements to be made
- the lead section -- Mention: Selling screenplay while at USC. Going on to create The O.C. And finally what's in store: Gossip Girls, Chuck, and Looking for Alaska.
- The planning leading up to The O.C. pilot... difficulties.. ideas, meetings with McG and Savage... formulating.-BillDeanCarter 00:28, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
