Julia Adamson, formerly known as Julia Nagle, is a composer/musician born September 30, 1960 in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada. In 1967, her family moved to Manchester, England.
Although she had previously performed in Manchester group What? Noise, she is also known as a member of The Fall between 1995-2001. She contributed to The Light User Syndrome, Levitate, The Marshall Suite and The Unutterable, mainly writing and programming computer tracks and during live performances playing keyboards, guitar and operating a DAT with the computer tracks. She was the only member of the group not to quit after an onstage altercation amongst the band in New York in April 1998. This was despite the fact that singer Mark E. Smith was charged with assaulting her, resulting in a protection order being issued on returning to the UK ("Hip Priest", Simon Ford Quartet Books 2003 pp259-60). She left in Spring 2001 before the recording of Are You Are Missing Winner, although she can be heard on a segment of one track.
Julia continues to write and perform under the name Invisiblegirl. She can also be found performing live with Tim Lyons under the band name The Sandells
