Julien Sablé (born 11 September 1980 in Marseille) is a French footballer who currently plays as a defensive midfielder for AS Saint-Étienne. He is also the captain of that club, where he made his first team debut in the 1997-98 season. He became an integral member of the club the next season, when they earned promotion into Ligue 1; they were relegated back to Ligue 2 in 2001 but promoted once again in 2004, and have remained in Ligue 1 ever since. He has scored 9 goals in league matches for the club. Recently, he expressed displeasure at the departure of manager Élie Baup; he replied in the affirmative when an interviewer asked him "For your future, could this [the departure of Baup] change things?"
