Juso (Japanese:十三), is a place located in north central Osaka, Japan. It typifies the unique culture of Osaka. Situated across the Yodogawa river from central Osaka, Juso is centrally located for easy access by all major train lines to each of the 3 major Kansai cities (East of Kobe (35 minutes by train) and west of Kyoto (30 minutes by train)) Predominantly known as the "pink" area of Osaka, Juso has a robust red light district area in the Hommachi West area. Scenes of the movie "Black Rain" starring Michael Douglas were shot in this area. Juso is also famous for its wide variety of high quality classic Osaka cuisine featuring okonomiyaki, negiyaki, and takoyaki shops. In September every year, a massive fireworks celebration takes place besides the river, where many people adorn traditional yukatas and wooden sandals.
