Justin Jake Long (born June 2, 1978) is an American actor, best known for his film and television performances of Waiting..., Accepted, Dodgeball and Ed. He is also known for his personification of a Macintosh computer in Apple's 2006/2007 "Get a Mac" advertisement campaign.

Long was born in Fairfield, Connecticut to a Catholic family.[1] His mother, Wendy, is an actress, and his father, R. James Long, is a philosophy teacher at Fairfield University. He has two brothers: an older brother, Damian, who teaches English to High School students at Weston High School, in Connecticut, and a younger brother, Christian, who appears in the movie, Accepted, as the Sandwich Mascot, alongside his brother who stars in the film. He attended Fairfield College Preparatory School, a Jesuit school in Fairfield where he was given the "Most Likely Not To Be Seen In Class" superlative, and entered Vassar College's Class of 2000, but left before graduating to pursue his acting career. His bio on the Galaxy Quest DVD states that his early acting work was in sketch comedy.

Long's notable film credits include Jeepers Creepers, Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story, Crossroads, Galaxy Quest, "Dreamland" and Waiting.... He was also a regular on the NBC TV series Ed (2000–2004), playing socially maladjusted high-school student Warren Cheswick. He has also appeared in the movies The Break-Up and played the main character in the 2006 comedy film Accepted. He has just been selected to co-star with Bruce Willis and play a "white-hat hacker" in the new Die Hard 4 movie named Live Free or Die Hard.[2] He plays a fairly prominient role in the upcoming movie The Sasquatch Dumpling Gang, a spiritual sequel to Napoleon Dynamite.
In the spring of 2006, Justin co-starred with author and Daily Show "Resident Expert" John Hodgman in the "Get a Mac" advertising campaign for Apple Computer. The campaign features commercials in which Long plays a Mac computer and Hodgman plays a PC, both engaged in playful banter about "the strengths of the Mac platform and perceived weaknesses of the PC platform."[3]
On November 8th, 2006, RadarOnline, citing an anonymous representative for Long, reported that Long would no longer be the face of the Mac for the new set of commercials. Shortly thereafter, they appended an "update" to their original article, naming a source, Long's agent, saying that Long was in fact doing more Mac ads. That same month, Long posted a message on his official fan site, stating that he would continue to do Apple advertisements. [4] Between 11/06 and 2/07, he has appeared in seven additional "Get a Mac" ads.
