Justin Utley, singer/songwriter, born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Marlin Utley and Elizabeth "Betty" Utley (DiChellis). Beginning his career as a Mormon-Contemporary singer/songwriter, he has earned numerous awards in the music and performing arts, which includes "Entertainer of the Year" during his high school years to "Best Singer and Songwriter" by Salt Lake City Weekly in 2001 - 2003. He was a featured performer at the Salt Lake 2002 Winter Olympics, and composed and performed the theme song to the Emmy-winning PBS movie "The Shadow of Light", as well as other independant films. Theatrically, his credits include a 7-month regional run as "Joseph" in Joseph and the Amazing Technocolor Dreamcoat and the Utah premiere of Elton John and Tim Rice's Aida (Musical) as the leading man "Radames". Justin released his first nationally distributed CD "Runaway" in 2005 on his own record label "Kolob Records" (a slight tie on the Mormon Church belief of the planet Kolob which is believed to be where God lives). His relocation to New York City in June 2006 and performances on the East Coast, billing him as the Ex-Mormon Acoustic Rocker, caught the attention of PlanetOut Inc. and HX Magazine. His next project is scheduled for release in the fall of 2007.
