ゾーロモン・ビルンバウム

ゾーロモン・アッシャー・ビルンバウム（Solomon Ascher Birnbaum、1891年 - 1989年）はイディッシュ語、ヘブライ語学者、美術史家。1891年ウィーンでシオニストで有名なナータン・ビルンバウムの子に生まれる。第一次世界大戦のときにオーストリア・ハンガリー帝国に従軍。ヴュルツブルグ大学で博士号をとる。1922年から1933年ハンブルク大学でイディッシュ語の講義を行う。ナチスが抬頭すると妻子とともに（妻はイレーネ・グリューンヴァルトという）イギリスに亡命する。1936年から1957年ロンドン大学の東洋アフリカ研究所で古文書学、碑文学、また1938年からスラブ・東欧学部の講師を務める。第二次大戦中はイギリスの書籍の翻訳に専心する。1989年没。
