Photograph of a Schleicher ASK 21 two seater glider being used for training in winter. Normally the pupil sits in the front seat and the instructor in the rear seat. There are dual controls so that the instructor can take over at any time. 750 K21 gliders have been built and are among the most commonly used gliders for training. Other types frequently used for training are the Schleicher ASK 13 which was produced in similar numbers and the Blanik L-13 of which 3,000 have been built.
