Kal Skirata is a character in the fictional Star Wars novel Republic Commando: Triple Zero. In it, he trains six young clones, Ordo, Mereel, Prudii, A'den, Jaing, and Kom'rk (Only 3 ID numbers are given to match a name Ordo N-11, Mereel N-7 and Prudii N-5) to be highly skilled military commandos. He becomes an important character later on in the book because he is the only person that the commandos will obey.

[edit] Arrival at Kamino
When he arrived on the planet of Kamino, the planet where the clone warriors were grown, Skirata began to feel depressed. He felt that it was wrong that the Kaminoans trained the clones, who were only children at the time, so realistically. Training was often done with live ammunition and many clones were killed because of it.
[edit] Null ARCs
While in the office of one of the Kaminoan scientists he was informed that a Null batch of ARC captains would be "disposed of". Skirata was shocked and disgusted by this and asked to see them. They were brought into the office and he was even more disgusted to see that they were children. Jango Fett and Skirata saved the Nulls from the Kaminoans and brought them to Skirata's personal apartment to be trained.
The Nulls became attached to Skirata, especially Captain Ordo. Skirata is the only man that they will listen to.
N-11 is Ordo, a possible reference to Canderous Ordo from KOTOR
N-7 is Mereel, named after the great Mandalorian captain Jaster Mereel, who was betrayed.
N-5 is Prudii, his name is the Mandalorian word for 'Shadow'.
A'den, Kom'rk, and Jaing were the names of the others, though their corresponding numbers are never given in Triple Zero.
[edit] Conflict with Walon Vau
Kal Skirata has a feud with Walon Vau, a fellow Mandalorian. Vau's training methods which often included abusing and humiliating clones irritated Skirata.
Another reason for Skirata's anger with Vau was how they became Mandalorians. Walon Vau became a Mandalorian by becoming bored with his rich family and running away. Skirata was found abandoned on a battle field and adopted by a Mandalorian.
The largest confrontation between the two men happened shortly after The Battle of Geonosis. Out of all of the commando squads that Walon Vau trained only one of them lost men that day. The only surviving member, Atin, returned to Kamino grieving over the loss of his brothers. Vau, true to his brutal training, gave Atin an option. He could either fight another of the commandos trained by Vau or he could fight Vau himself. Atin chose the latter and attacked Vau. Vau, using a sword made of Mandalorian iron, ripped him apart nearly killing him. Atin still carries the scars on his neck and upper body, the most noticeable of which is a long scar running across his face.
When Skirata found out about what Vau had done he was so enraged he fought Vau one on one breaking the much larger mans nose and nearly killing him himself. It is still unknown what stopped him from killing the man.
