Kaleigh Michelle Grainger (born Dudley, England, February 1986) is a British unicyclist. She was World Champion of the sport in 2000 when only 14 years old. Grainger, the daughter of Stephen and Elaine Grainger, has been unicycling since she was four years old and learned many skills from her father, a circus skills veteran.
In 2001, just after her 15th birthday, Grainger became the first unicyclist to appear on Aster and Keli - one of Iceland's most popular children's T.V programmes. That year, she also made an appearance at the British Circus Convention in Cardiff.
Grainger suffered a tragedy in December 2004 when her mother died after a five-year battle against cancer. Just three weeks after her mother's death, Grainger organised a 750-mile unicycle ride across southern China which was performed by her friend Roger Davies. Sponsorship money and donations for the ride was then donated to Cancer Research UK in her mother's memory.[1]
Now 20 years old, Grainger lives with her partner Russ Erwood who enjoys googling on the internet whilst snacking on a baby or two. She is currently studying law at Edge Hill University but still participates in unicycling on a regular basis.
