In the Mario series of video games, Kammy, first introduced in Paper Mario, is an old witch Magikoopa who works for Bowser. Since she serves Bowser as his advisor, she is presumed to be second in command of the Koopa Troopas.

Kammy presumably oversees the Magikoopas along with Bowser's advisor Kamek(It is unclear whether she holds a relation towards Kamek or not, let alone the type of relation), as one looked forward to getting a raise from Kammy for defeating Mario. Other duties include plotting with Bowser and inventing a machine to buff up the Koopa king. Kammy's only attack in Paper Mario was to form yellow blocks and smash them down on enemies. In Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, she is the most powerful of the Magikoopas and has the same attack as the basic blue Magikoopa. However, unlike most Magikoopas, she lacks a fang, and instead has a square tooth on her bottom jaw.

Kammy is described by Goombario in Paper Mario as "the brains behind Bowser" and is high up in the Koopa hierarchy. Although Bowser makes cutting remarks at her, such as calling her a hag, Kammy remains ever loyal to her king. However, her loyalty to Bowser sometimes backfires, such as the time where she obeys his orders to place things Mario will really hate to block his path, when Princess Peach answers all of them as things Mario likes.

Kammy continues as Bowser's lieutenant in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. In the second Paper Mario game, Kammy is the one who informs Bowser about Mario's quest to collect the Crystal Stars and that Princess Peach has been kidnapped. She then proceeds to aid Bowser in his journey to retrieve the Crystal Stars and Princess Peach although their efforts are unsuccessful most of the time. She is often the object of many elderly jokes and despite her loyalty she often gets on Bowser's bad side and ends up being on the other end of his wrath. At the end of the game she aids Bowser in fighting Mario and his allies in the Palace of Shadow and is defeated.
