The Karnataka State Universities Act, 2000 was a law passed by the Karnataka state government in India. It replaced the previous Karnataka State Universities Act, 1976. The act was passed so as to increase the number of higher educational facilities in the state.

- Amending Act 33 of 2003.-- Women’s University at Bijapur was established.
- Amending Act 10 of 2004- Tumkur University was carved out from Bangalore University.
- Amending Act 2 of 2005.-- Jurisdiction of Bangalore University and Tumkur University decided.
