Karpuzlu is a town and a district of Aydın Province, Turkey. The town is partially situated on the slopes of a hill on the top of which the well preserved ruins of the ancient city of Alinda stands out. As such, it is a favored stop for visitors to the ruins who usually depart from Bodrum in the frame of organized tours, safaris in local parlance, and take the mountain road from Milas by jeeps to arrive in Karpuzlu. The modern city of Karpuzlu extends across a plain that is part of the southern reaches of the fertile Menderes River (Meander) valley.
