Kaslo (Kootenay Lake, in British Columbia, Canada and is known for its great natural beauty. It is part of the Central Kootenay Regional District. As of 2001, it had a population of 1,032. [1]
) is a village located on the shores ofOriginally designated as a sawmill site in 1889, Kaslo grew on the silver boom of the 19th century, and retains much of the history from its mining days. The town today relies mainly on the industries of forestry and tourism.
Every August, the town hosts the Kaslo Jazz Etc. Festival, a popular music event which attracts international performers and draws large audiences.
