In 1900, Greece had not yet converted its calendar to the Gregorian (NS), and was still using the Julian (OS), which at that time was 13 days behind. So the 17 December date for Katina Paxinou is either:

• the actual OS date as recorded in her birth certificate, which would translate to 30 December in NS, or
• it has already been converted to NS and the date recorded in her birth papers was 4 December.
