Kayamath is a story about changing relationships and of everlasting Love.

Kayamath's story centers around Prachi - a simple girl with dreams in her eyes. Prachi believes in fairy tale romances and awaits her Prince Charming. In a world full of smart, confident and intelligent women Prachi comes across as a vulnerable and docile character.

She is a young sheltered girl who has never seen any struggle in her life. Prachi draws her strength from her father Inder Shah and her childhood sweetheart and love Neev and is completely dependent on them.

Prachi and Neev are childhood friends, they love each other, but don't know about each other's feelings.

Prachi's life is completely transformed when on the day she is to get married to Neev, her father dies. As if the death of her father wasn't enough to shatter her dreams, she also learns of her father's illegitimate relationship with another woman and his other daughter Ayesha.

Circumstances change her life. The show is about Prachi's love and her life. Her life where she losses her most loved ones and her sacrifice for her loved ones. Most of the story is centered around Neev and Prachi and how thier love changes and struggles according to the circumstances around them.

In this Serial, There are also a couple which were famous in their Serial called 'Kavyanjali' who were Kavya and Anjali. They are a current married couple in Kayamath.

Kayamath Had Replaced a famous Daily Indian Soap called 'Kahiin To Hoga' on STAR Plus at time slot Monday to Friday 11.00pm.

Inder Shah's role was previously played by Mohnish Behl(son of late actress Nutan) but he left the show as they extended his role and he didnt have the dates.Ronit Roy replaced him and will continue playing the role for about 15 episodes till the death of Inder Shah.
Jay Bhanushali used to play Varun Bhasker's role in the Disney Channel India show Dhoom Machaao Dhoom.but,he left the show as he is committed to Kayamath.
