[edit] History
KBZD originally was a blues station from 1993-2003. Then flipped to bilingual Top 40 as Hot 997 (2003-2004) and later flipped to Tejano as Tejano 99.7 (2004-2005). They would flip to Rhythmic Contemporary as 99.7 The Party from 2005 to 2006 (was home to the controversial Star and Buc Wild Morning Show at the time), followed by 99.7 for the holidays from November 15, 2006 to December 25, 2006, when it flipped to the current Energy 99.7. They are the second Rhythmic AC to use the "Energy" moniker, the other being WNRJ/Norfolk, Virginia.
KBZD is in competition with Rhythmic Contemporary rival KQIZ.
