KCPT is a public television station in Kansas City, Missouri, serving the greater Kansas City metropolitan area as a PBS member station. It did not colorcast any NET/PBS shows, including Sesame Street, until the Fall of 1972.
From studios located in downtown Kansas City, KCPT produces local programs such as Kansas City Week in Review, Rare Visions & Roadside Revelations and Ruckus, a political affairs program. Newer programs include TalkBack Live with Steve Rose and One on One with Victor Hogstrom. KCPT's studios were once home to KCTV, and KCTV's trademark transmission tower still rises above the building.
