Kemira

Kemira is a chemical industry corporation holding industry leadership positions or major market shares in pulp and paper chemicals, water treatment chemicals, industrial chemicals and paints. Kemira is headquartered in Finland, and the largest owner (49%) is the state of Finland. Kemira became the worlds biggest provider of the pulp and paper chemicals after its acquisition of the pulp and paper chemical operations of Lanxess. In water treatment chemicals, Kemwater is the market leader (largest world market share). Titanium dioxide production has been developed by Kemira Pigments. The brands of the Tikkurila paints division are major players in the Nordic countries and even market leaders in Russia. After the acquisition of Kraski Teks, Tikkurila is the largest paint corporation in the Russian market.

Kemira was originally the state chemical company, producing fertilizer. However, the corporation expanded, and the fertilizer division was separated into Kemira GrowHow.
