Kensington Princesses

"Kensington Princess" is a term sometimes used to describe a person who lives in or around the borough of Kensington and Chelsea (a wealthy area of London) and has been protected from the outside world/hot housed. It is quite a derogatory term, though less so than "sloane" or "sloaney" which refers to those living around sloane square. A "Kensington Princess" refers to a female who is wealthy, shopping at designer labels and attending preparatory and public schools, but who is not very aware of the real world and who is most likely quite conservative politically and socially.
