Kerala Congress (Jacob)

Kerala Congress (Jacob) is the faction of Kerala Congress led by the former minister Shri T.M Jacob who has held portfolios like Education, Irrigation and Culture in the State of Kerala, India.

Kerala Congress (Jacob) was born when T.M Jacob with his supporting M.L.As- Johnny Nellore, Mathew Stephen and P.M Mathew decided to split from the Kerala Congress (Mani) led by former Minister K.M Mani. P.M Mathew later returned to his former party. Kerala Congress (Jacob) has its stronghold in the districts of Ernakulam, Kottayam, Kollam and Trivandrum.

Kerala congress (Jacob) has the following feeder organsations:
- Students Wing - Kerala Students Congress (Jacob) or KSC (Jacob)
- Youth Wing : Kerala Youth Front (Jacob) or KYF (Jacob)
- Women's Wing : Kerala Womens Congress (Jacob)or KWC (Jacob)
- Trade Union : Kerala Trade Union Congress (Jacob) or KTUC (Jacob)

Since its inception Kerala Congress had always been part of the UDF until it left the front in 2005. The party dissolved in to the then newly formed Democratic Indira Congress (Karunakaran) party led by former Chief Minister K. Karunakaran.
In 2006 September, following differences with the party President K. Muraleedharan, T.M Jacob and his supporters split from D.I.C and revived the Kerala Congress (Jacob) party. They have been welcomed back by the Congress led UDF front.
