Kevin Sharp (born April 6, 1959 in Leeds, Yorkshire) was an English cricketer. He was a left-handed batsman and a right-arm offspin bowler.
Born on 6th April 1959 in Leeds Kevin Sharp is another of the lost talents of English Cricket. Unlike his contemporary David Gower, this gifted, curly haired left handed batsman failed to do justice to his talent and did not win the England cap predicted when he scored 260 for England Young Cricketers in 1978.
Making his debut for Yorkshire County Cricket Club in 1976, and retiring in 1990, he scored 9962 runs at 30.84 with a top score of 181 in in 218 first class matches. In all he compiled 14 centuries, 47 fifties and took 107 catches. He was awarded his Yorkshire first team cap in 1982. He also appeared for Griqualand West in South Africa.
He scored 5049 runs in 217 one day matches with 3 hundreds at 27.44.
He played for Shropshire in the Minor Counties from 1993 to 1997.
After retiring from the game he has worked as a batting coach for Yorkshire and an umpire.
