Killoe (Cill Eo in Irish) is a parish in County Longford, Ireland. It is located about ten kilometeres north of Longford Town and is bordered by the parishes of Drumlish, Ballinalee, Edgeworthstown, Longford and Newtownforbes. It is one of the largest parishes in the county. Killoe is mainly a rural parish but has two villages, Ennybegs and Cullyfad. Proximity to Longford on the Cullyfad side and Ballinalee on the Ennybegs side, results in v. small villages. Ennybegs does boast a Shop, Church, NS school, relatively new community centre and of course a Pub (with some intersting nights/clients). Cullyfad has a church, community centre and approx 5 houses and thats it unless you count the old football pitch. However it looks like Cullyfad will overtake Ennybegs population wise, as theres a bit of a building frenzy at the moment. Whereas there may have been 40 houses within 1 mile of Cullyfad in 2004, by 2009 that could be 450+ including a two 4* hotels, school, creche, 18 hole Ernie Els designed golf course, etc,.
Things to do: Pubs: The Forge - between Cullyfad and Ennybegs - Large open bar with a shop & filling station to the side. Occcasional C&W performances - About 15yrs old - simple but not athmospheric or quaint
The Hide Out (Brownes, Begleys....) Across the road from the Church in Ennybegs. Slightly more cosy than the FOrge but only just. Again not big on athmosphere
River The Camlin flows through the parish and one day hopefully the mystical Siobhaine and cool Ais will live there
