Kilwa

Kilwa most likely refers to Kilwa Kisiwani and Kilwa Masoka, an historic island settlement and a mainland town in Tanzania, facing each other across an inlet in Mso Bay, about 240 km south of Dar es Salaam. The name is also used for:
- the surrounding Kilwa district of the Lindi region
- Kilwa Kivinje, a small town 20 km north.
Other uses:
- Kilwa, a food from north-east Africa.
- Kilwa, Katanga, a town in DR Congo, situated on the south-west shore of Lake Mweru.
- Kilwa Island in Lake Mweru, 6 km from Kilwa, Katanga, but in Zambian territory.
