Kinnegad (Cionn Átha Gad in Irish) is a town in County Westmeath, Ireland. It is located at the junction of the N6 and the N4 - two of Ireland's main east-west roads.
There has been a lot of building in the area including new housing estates and a new 48 bedroom hotel ("The Hilamar Hotel") located on the main street where the famous Harry's of Kinnegad once stood. There are also quite a few pubs as well. However the town lacks in other facilities like libraries, secondary school, gymnasium, snooker hall, internet cafe.
Kinnegad is home to many commuters who commute to Dublin daily via the N4 and the recently opened M4 motorway. Many residents resent the €2.60 toll that is charged for travelling on the motorway, however journey times to Dublin are signifcantly reduced by using this road.
