[edit] Kirin (キリン)

(Note: My Wikipedia name has an X simply because of a pre-existing contributing user.)

I was born on January 12, 1979 in Victoria, British Columbia. I have lived in Ottawa, Ontario (1.5 years, age 7-9) and Powell River, British Columbia (0.6 years, age 15-16) but I've always returned to Victoria. I still live here, currently residing in a condominium with my fiancée and our two cats.

I have a considerable interest in photography of all sorts, and to this end I own a Sony Alpha DSLR-A100, a Minolta Maxxum 7000, and a Minolta Maxxum 9000. I am focused on turning professional in my photography pursuits.

At various times for various jobs, I have done a considerable about of web design, graphics editing and logo design, computer hardware troubleshooting and system building, and some networking using Debian Linux. I try not to do so much of the non-photography-related (and non-wikipedia) computer stuff anymore if I can afford not to.

I am a huge fan of the Toronto Blue Jays and of baseball in general. I can often be found editing the biographies of past and present Blue Jays and other MLB players.

[edit] Useless facts about my birthday

Some people born on January 12 that are notable to me:

• Sports figures: Tim Horton (1930), Marian Hossa (1979), Bobby Crosby (1980), and Dontrelle Willis (1982)
• Media personalities: The Amazing Kreskin (1935), Kirstie Alley (1951), Rush Limbaugh (1951), Howard Stern (1954), Jeff Bezos (1964), Rob Zombie (1965), Raekwon (1970)

And some who died:

• Pierre de Fermat (1665) and Agatha Christie (1976)

[edit] Photo Gallery

Nicodemus, one of my two cats

My Wikipedia gallery can be found here. My own web site gallery can be found soon.

While I do attempt to upload images that are of a certain quality, my Wikipedia gallery should not be used as an indication of my overall quality or range of photography. I regret that any truly beautiful works must remain in my own commercial interest and thus will not be released into a license that is wiki-friendly.
