Kisari Mohan Ganguli
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Kisari Mohan Ganguli was the person who translated the Great Epic- Mahabharata into English between 1883 to 1896. His translation is available at Munshiram Manohar Lal Publishers. It is widely considered to be the best transalation of the epic. The greatest criticism about his work is the emphasis on a literal rather than a literary rendering of Sanskrit couplets.
