Kitschrock
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Kitschrock or kitsch rock is a type of rock music originally invented by the Norwegian rock group All That And A Bag Of Chips. Despite the geographical origin of the music style, it clearly descends from the British music styles glam rock, punk and new wave.
The term kitsch refers to the artist's awareness of the fact that their product is either in bad taste, an inferior copy of an existing style, or "retro".
Other rock groups that might be related to the genre are Devo, Sparks and The Who.
