Kline Iron and Steel

Kline Iron and Steel was a company based in Columbia, South Carolina. Established on February 23, 1923 as Kline Iron and Metal Co., since 1953 it is primarily known for the construction of broadcast towers. This includes the world's tallest man-made structure, the KVLY-TV mast.
In 2003, the formerly family-owned company was acquired by American Tower Corporation. In 2004, it was sold to SPX Corporation, renamed Kline Towers, and incorporated into SPX's Dielectric Tower Operations.
The division is a member of the National Association of Tower Erectors, American Society of Civil Engineers, American Welding Society, National Association of Broadcasters, and the National Institute of Steel Dealers.
