KMIA-AM

KMIA-AM is the callsign for the license of 710 kHz, located in Black Canyon City, Arizona. The license is held by Entravision Holdings, LLC. The station is no longer on the air and the license has been deleted within the [[United States[[, as the country of Mexico has objected to the license and the tower (which was contested in a lawsuit was vandalized (a person burned the steel support rods on four of the towers with a torch) on 4 March 2006 as part of a nationwide rally concerning illegal immigration. The station broadcast ESPN Deportes.
The query for KMIA in the AM database of the Federal Communications Commission reads the following as a comment:
TWO SITE OPERATION KEEP FOR INTERNATIONAL PURPOSES PER G.FEHNER MEXICO HAS OBJECTED TO THIS D[AY] & N[IGHT] SO WE NEED TO KEEP IT IN DATA BASE FOR NEGOTIATING PURPOSES.
From 30 March 1981 to 7 January 2003, the station bore the KUET callsign.
