From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Kohlberg wine is produced by Bodegas y Viñedos "La Cabaña". The estate is located close to the town of Tarija, Bolivia in the Tarija Department in south-eastern Bolivia at an altitude of 1,950 metres above sea level.
Due to its privileged climate for cultivating wine is has developed into an internationally renowned vinery. As of 2005 a surface of approximately 150 hectares is used for growing grapes.
Kohlberg wine came to life in 1963 when Don Julio Kohlberg Chavarría bought the "La Cabaña" estate and started producing wine. At first he produced just enough for his private consumption but then went on to expand the business due to "popular demand".
