Konstanty Rokossowski in Polish officers uniform
It is to be noted that in Poland there is no specific uniform of a Marshal of Poland. During his stay in Poland in the 1940's and 1950's Rokossowski used both Polish and Soviet uniforms. On this picture he wears Polish officers uniform, but with all medals, which is forbidden by Polish uniform code. Ribbons or miniatures are worn instead.
According to the non-retroactive copyright law of July 10, 1952, of the People's Republic of Poland, all photographs by Polish photographers published before the law was changed on May 23, 1994 that are without a clear copyright notice are assumed to be in the public domain. |
