Kralj Petar Krešimir IV is a missile gunboat in the Croatian Navy. It is named after the Croatian king Petar Krešimir IV. It was built in the Kraljevica shipyard in 1991 and commissioned in 1992. It is an upgraded version of the Rade Končar missile gunboat and is 8 meters longer. Kralj Petar Krešimir IV has a sister ship Kralj Dmitar Zvonimir. Kralj Petar Krešimir IV is the flagship of the Croatian navy.
King class gun boats were first introduced in to service in 1992, originally were meant to replace Osa I (soviet made gunboats) in Yugoslav Navy. Yugoslav Navy ordered 10 King class Gunboats in 1990 with first delivered ship in late 1992 to Croatian Navy. 2nd Ship was never completed due to the war, and remaining 8 ships were canceled.
Croatia completed 2nd ship Dimitar Zvonimir in late 2004 and ship is currently ongoing sea trials. Croatia has no intention of building more of King class, instead Croatian Navvy plans to procure 4 Göteborg class Gunboats from Sweden.
